Directions to Winterfield Elementary School Entrance
From Sharon Amity/Central Ave.
Travel west (toward downtown) one short block to Winterfield Drive on left.
Turn left and stay on Winterfield Drive (it takes two turns, but stay on it).
Continue until Winterfield School is on your left.
Continue past school, then turn into the lot just past the building.
Park in the back of the lot near the dumpster.
From Eastway Dr./Central Ave.
Travel east (toward Eastland Mall) through the traffic light at Kilborne/Norland.
Continue east to the second traffic light at Rosehaven.
Turn right on Rosehaven and continue until it ends at a T intersection with Winterfield.
Turn right on Winterfield.
Continue until Winterfield School is on your left.
Continue past school, then turn into the lot just past the building.
Park in the back of the lot near the dumpster.
 
Directions to Evergreen Cemetery entrance off Central Ave.
Traveling east on Central Ave. just past the traffic light at Kilborne/Norland on the right is the entrance to Evergreen Cementery.
Drive to the back of the cemetery, directly across from Eastway Middle School.
Enter on foot past the chain on the old dirt road into the woods.

This natural area of approximately 80 acres of mixed hardwoods, pines and open areas, located three miles from downtown Charlotte, provides shelter and feeding area for a wide variety of birds, especially during spring and fall migration. The area lies south of Evergreen Cemetery, between Norland Drive and Winterfield Drive. Several trails through the area can be entered from Winterfield School playing fields, Sheffield Park or the back of Evergreen Cemetery.
