One of the best ways to keep up with bird activity in the Charlotte metro area is to join Meckbirds. This discussion group is sponsored by Mecklenburg Audubon and is open to anyone interested in wild birds and birdwatching in the Charlotte area including Gaston, Lincoln, Iredell, Cabarrus, Union counties in North Carolina and York county South Carolina. The discussion list was created to:

• Let others know what birds are being seen in the area and where they are being seen

• Field trip reports

• Get in touch with others who may want to a take-spur-of-the-moment field trip

• Ask questions about wild birds, bird watching and other wildlife conservation issues

• Announce events and activities that are of interest to members
